Nate Macy is starting his 20th year in coaching, his first as head coach of the Casper College Lady Thunderbirds, and his ninth overall season at Casper College.

Macy previously coached at Northern Oklahoma College in Tonkawa, Oklahoma, under the direction of Head Coach Greg Krause. In Macy's time at NOC-Tonkawa, he helped guide the Lady Mavs to four Region 2 tournaments appearances in five years.

Macy also served as a graduate assistant/student assistant at the University of Central Oklahoma for the men’s team under Head Coach Terry Evans. During his time at UCO, Macy helped win three Lone Star North Championships, one Lone Star Championship, three NCAA Division II National Tournament appearances, and one NCAA Division II Elite Eight appearance. Macy also did a stint at Deer Creek High School in the Greater Oklahoma City area. During Macy’s time at Casper College, he has helped guide the Lady T-Birds to an outstanding 224-37 (.858) record. The Lady T-Birds have won eight straight North Division championships, six Region 9 championships, and have qualified for seven NJCAA National Tournament appearances during his time at Casper College.

Coach Macy resides in Casper with his wife, Rachel and sons Xander and Ryker.

2004-2005 — Women’s student assistant coach at Northern Oklahoma College- Tonkawa, one year.

2010-2012 — Boys’ varsity assistant coach at Deer Creek High School, two years.

2007-2010 — Men’s student assistant coach/graduate assistant coach at the University of Central Oklahoma, three years.

2012-2017 — Women’s assistant coach at Northern Oklahoma College-Tonkawa, five years.

2017-2025 — Women’s assistant coach at Casper College, beginning his ninth year.

2025-present Women's head coach, beginning his first year.
